Our Fred & Beverly Dukes Concert Series presents on Sunday, February 6, at 4 p.m. the Mariachi Aguilas de Bakersfield, which was founded in January of 2015 by Juan Lopez. The ensemble consists of local, passionate, dedicated musicians who wish to carry on the tradition of mariachi music.

Mariachi Aguilas has performed in virtually every corner of Kern County and even shared the stage with Roberto Tapia, an international Mexican-American singer.

Juan Lopez, the group's leader, was born in San Juan Mixtepec, Oaxaca, Mexico but raised in Weedpatch, California. He began playing trumpet in middle school and discovered a passion for mariachi music thanks to the Kern County Youth Mariachi Foundation. Other musicians are Miguel Cortes, Maria Ventura, Daniel Cortes, Christopher Valdovihos, and Alfonso Lopez.

The Dukes Concert Series is excited to present the Crown of Life Ministries Praise Team on January 9, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church-UCC of Bakersfield.

This Bakersfield group has been singing contemporary gospel music since 1992. They are inspired by the Detroit Sound of Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross. Their goal is “Winning Souls to Christ!” The mood will be upbeat and inspirational – get ready to clap your hands and stomp your feet!
