When holidays bring pain or sorrow

Holidays are supposed to be happy, but for many people, they are difficult if not painful. The reasons vary. It can be the first holiday without a loved one, without a job, or coping with a serious illness. Holidays can bring up hurts from the past, or emphasize one’s loneliness.

Knowing the holiday emphasis on cheerfulness can sharpen anyone’s pain, First Congregational Church is offering a service of Comfort and Hope for people of any faith or no faith.
