Chrismon Service: A Meaningful Advent Tradition

  • First Congregational Church of Bakersfield-UCC 5 Real Road Bakersfield, CA, 93309 United States (map)

Join us at First Congregational Church, UCC this Sunday, December 7th, at 4:30 PM in the Sanctuary for our beautiful annual Chrismon Service. Chrismons, short for Christ Monograms, are the elegant white and gold handmade ornaments we use to decorate our Sanctuary Christmas trees. This is more than just tree decorating; it is a meaningful, Jesus-centered service where we learn the symbolism behind these beautiful shapes, which represent the hope, love, and joy of Christ and his teachings. It is a wonderful way for all ages to pause during the busy season, sing beloved Christmas carols, and focus on the true meaning of Advent.
