Children and Youth Ministries

At First Congregational Church of Bakersfield, we believe children deserve a space where they feel safe, seen, and loved. That’s why we’re excited to offer Godly Play, a unique and meaningful program designed just for kids.

Godly Play (Ages 4–12)

Godly Play is a Montessori-inspired, storytelling-based spiritual formation class that invites children to wonder, imagine, and grow in their faith.

📍 When: During Sunday Worship (10:00 AM)
📍 Where: Kids Zone in Plymouth Hall
👩‍🏫 Led by: A trained team of storytellers and volunteers

Children begin in worship with their families and are invited to follow the Godly Play banner out after the Time for Young Disciples.

Why It Matters

At FCC, we nurture faith without pressure. We don’t tell children what to believe—we give them tools to explore their relationship with God in a creative, open-hearted way.

We celebrate all kinds of families. Whether you’re single, co-parenting, foster parenting, or grandparenting, your kids are welcome here. Crying babies, wiggles, and giggles are part of the joy.
