Peghi grew up in northern California with her three brothers. She graduated from the University of California, Davis in 1979 with a BS in Chemical Engineering and Geology. She worked as an engineer for various oil & gas companies and retired after 37 years at the end of 2016. She moved to Bakersfield for the second time in 1990. Peghi became a member of First Congregational Church in 1991 and loves her church family. Over the years, she has been involved in many church activities and has served on several FCC Boards and Committees. She was elected as Moderator in January 2019. She is a member of the Rhapsody Ringers Handbell Choir and teaches Sunday School for the 3rd to 5th graders. Outside of volunteering at church, she likes to read mystery books and to do crafts especially crocheting and cross-stitch.
